As we were on way to email today I asked my companion what happened this week because I usually can't remember. We were going through the days and my companion said, "Well, on Tuesday we finally found microwave popcorn. That was good." But good news, I finally remembered what happened besides stumbling upon microwave popcorn.
We had one my favorite lessons ever this week. It was my favorite because we just talked about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I still do not understand it completely but I do know that it is a real power we can use in our lives because we have a loving Father in Heaven.
We read this scripture with a girl who is facing a lot in her life right now-stuff I can't even imagine, but the Spirit impressed upon me that nothing can help her more than Jesus Christ and His Atonement.
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
In the Albanian set of scriptures is says, "how to succor his people according to their weaknesses." And I think I liked that a little better than infirmities-because on those days we fall short, those days when we just don't measure up, we just have remember the Lord has paid the price for us. Not just for a couple of people who were really close to being perfect, but for every single person. How amazing is that.
I love you all!
And this is my favorite video ever. I wish I could watch it every day.
